Description

Corporate Tax Specialist, Bank, Brussels.

Objective: The Corporate Tax team at my client, an international Bank based in Brussels, is in charge of corporate tax aspects for Belgium, Netherlands, Poland, Scandinavia and Luxembourg and all aspects impacting the corporate tax position of the bank.

Tasks:

- Point of contact for all questions relating to corporate tax.
- Handle corporate tax aspects for Belgium, Netherlands, Poland, Scandinavia and Luxembourg and all aspects impacting the corporate tax position of the bank.
- contribute to projects by providing corporate tax analyses.
- follow-up on on-going Transfer Pricing projects, join project team on BEPS implementation and ensure that the Transfer Pricing policy of the bank is compliant with OECD guidelines.
- liaise with both accounting department and outside counsel to whom corporate tax compliance has been outsourced. In this respect you start preparing the corporate tax filing process;
- You calculate corporate tax provisions for Belgian, Dutch and Luxembourg entities and contribute to the budget forecasting exercise;
- you follow-up improvements for streamlining the compliance process;
- you closely follow-up changes in tax laws and you identify threats and opportunities resulting from such changes;
- with the other teams you coordinate and prepare tax audits when announced.
- you pick up the compliance and follow-up for some smaller taxes not outsourced and other administrative tasks.
You will report to the Head of the Corporate Tax team.
Skills/Experience:

Ideally you will be a lawyer, accountant or an economist, having a specialization in tax law.
You should have 3-4 years experience in the tax department of a large company or of a Big 4 firm.
With strong tax knowledge you rapidly identify what really matters, threats and opportunities as to support business decisions
You have the ability to combine a theoretical approach and practical solutions for issues and you want to further develop your knowledge on tax matters.
Language: English is essential (plus, "nice to have" if possible either some French or Dutch).
