HHR UK are recruiting for 2 Senior Finance Managers for our client. One requirement to be based in High Wycombe, and one to be based in Oxford. When applying please specify which location you prefer.

Location: High Wycombe/Oxford

Day rate: £500- £580 a day

Length of Contract: ASAP - (with possible extension)

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Effectively leading; managing; and resourcing the finance team including any significant external supplier of services.
  • Ensuring that a proper set of accounts is kept and an accurate record of all transactions taking place in accordance with proper accounting and statutory requirements; including the production of year end accounts.
  • Maintaining and achieving the performance indicators agreed for the finance team; in relation to the effective management of budgets and assets. Managing and overseeing the accounting system ie nominal and sub ledgers.
  • Making sure that adequate systems of control are in place including reasonable segregation of duties.
  • Ensuring that all necessary reconciliations are carried out on a monthly and annual basis as required.
  • Managing and maintaining accurate fixed asset accounting and effective control of those assets.

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB

  • Responsible for monthly review, analysis and presentation of monthly financial performance for the nominated provider.
  • Analysis of areas of over-performance and lead on financial review including identification of corrective actions.
  • Evaluation of business cases for service developments, and services transfers schemes with recommendations of the Value for Money of the proposals Finance lead in support of the delivery of savings schemes to ensure the overall contract is delivered within the available resources
  • Lead the review and agreement of the Financial strategy of the nominated provider from the Commissioners viewpoint including synergy with the CCGs' strategic and Operational plans.
  • Review of options for Strategic service changes within the nominated Health Economy with evaluation of the financial effects of proposed options.
  • To deputise for the Assistant Director of Contracting - Finance when appropriate.
  • To lead on nominated areas in support of Strategic planning across the health economy

Experience Required:

  • In depth and expert knowledge and experience of the NHS finance regime, in particular financial and accounting procedures, financial aspects of NHS legislation and NHS finance policies including commissioning.
  • Minimum 5 years experience in a senior role. Expert knowledge of strategic financial planning and management.
  • Expert knowledge and experience in specialist areas of the NHS system reform agenda including Payment by Results (PbR)
  • CCAB Qualified - CIMA preferably but not restricted
  • 3years minimum post qualifying experience - ideally longer and experience at 8b level
  • NHS Contract Finance Experience
  • National Tariff/Payment by Results expertise
  • Ideally Commissioning but could be Provider Experience
  • Excellent communicator & customer service orientated & team player
