Beacon Hill Technologies has 1 year contract opportunity for a Network Support/Administration role.
Our client will NOT consider Corp to Corp candidates for this position.
This position will be the primary Firewall and VPN resource for our Integrated Services and Event Monitoring Center operations. You will work closely with IT groups, Physical and Logical Security groups, our customers and our EMC Operations team to integrate critical and highly complex networks
Assist in the installation, configuration and administration of several local area network and wide area network systems, and related hardware and software, supporting corporate users and customers
Assist in the integration of Integrated Services and Event Monitoring Center operations with Physical and Logical Security customers
Assist with Firewall architecture, installation, configuration and administration
Assist with Router and switch installation, configuration and support
Assist with VPN systems installation, configuration and support
Assist with Wireless network support
Assist with Customer connectivity support via Internet VPN, MPLS, or other dedicated network
Assist with voice switch and voice mail support
Monitor networks, Servers, desktop systems and applications on a regular basis using both manual and automated network management and analysis tools in order to identify potential problem areas and ensure prompt corrective action is initiated
Assist with the detailed technical documentation for network and research system documentation to obtain solutions
Assist in the development of criteria for evaluation and selection of vendor hardware and software to determine adherence to corporate guidelines
Participate in specialized projects with other functional groups as required
Participate in short and long term corporate network planning
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Management Information Systems or related study and 2+ years of applicable work experience; or 4+ years of applicable work experience
Good overall knowledge of LAN/WAN technologies
Good overall knowledge of VPN technologies
Experience with Firewall architecture, installation and configuration
Knowledge of various networking hardware and software components including Switches, Routers, Firewalls and voice Switches
Some knowledge/experience with Cisco hardware and software
Knowledge/experience with ISPs and ISP circuits a plus
Strong analytical skills required, including a thorough understanding of how to interpret functional requirements and modify our systems to satisfy those requirements
Ability to interact professionally with a diverse group, executives, managers, and subject matter experts
