Commissioning Engineer

A Commissioning Engineer is required to join an international manufacturing company based near Blackburn. A perfect opportunity for an experienced Electrical Biased Commissioning Engineer to work within a fast-paced, industry leading and entrepreneurial organisation.

A permanent position offering £30,000 - £35,000 (Dependent upon experience)

The client is an award winning international company that has designs, manufactures, installs and commissions products in the food and bakery industry. As well as individual products they also provide full plant solutions to clients internationally. UK Clients include Warburton's and Hovis and Allied Bakeries to name a few. The company also utilises their engineering knowledge into other areas and has also set up a separate division covering laser technologies to produce complex metal components. As a result of on increasing work load they are seeking to expand their teams and require additional engineers to help spread an overload of work.

The Commissioning Engineer position would best suit an individual who is open to traveling, keen to work within high standards of engineering and on the forefront of innovation. A position for an enthusiastic engineer willing to take their career to the next level. Knowledge / Experience of either automated machinery, commissioning machinery or maintenance of automated equipment would be ideal. You must also be open to traveling overseas.

Regular travel (40 - 50 %) is guaranteed along with an autonomy over your own work that will always vary and never be the same as the last project. There would also be travel overseas (approx. 25%)

Required experience of the following is necessary:
  • Commissioning of machinery
  • Knowledge of control systems and PLC's (Siemens and Mitsubishi would be ideal)
  • Electrical Installations
  • Drives (VSD, VFD or Servo)
  • Ability to interpret electrical diagrams
  • Strong communication skills
  • Ability to work under strict timescales


Duties of the role will include:
  • Providing training to customers on products (training in this will be provided)
  • Supporting commissioning engineers
  • Travel to customer sites
  • Working in head office to provide distance support and service to clients.


The client is seeking individuals that want to learn and develop themselves within a fast-paced environment. Industry and level of experience is not essential, as professional training courses will be provided to the selected candidate.
