Fixed Income Derivatives Analyst - HSBC

This role is within the Business Development Team within Fixed Income Derivative Operations.functional level to address the global OTC Confirmations space.

This role will work closely with the multiple global confirmations teams, Senior Management, various Technology teams, External Vendor and the Project Team to assist in the successful delivery of this project for FI Derivatives. Also within this role, there is a requirement to compile, prioritise, support and facilitate all operational system developments and other projects for the Global Credit Derivative and London Emerging Markets business areas.

This role requires pro-active engagement with internal and external, where applicable, stakeholders, both regionally and globally, strong communication skills, plus the ability to independently identify efficiency/STP opportunities. It also requires the individual to have an awareness of the Industry/Regulatory improvements within the Derivatives market, and how that may impact the day-to-day processes. A strong understanding of Operational risk and maintaining a robust control environment is essential.

Essential Skills and Experience

  • An excellent understanding of Derivatives Operational confirmation processes
  • Strong working knowledge of ISDA 2003 defs and market initiatives including Clearing and Regulatory.
  • In-depth knowledge of DTCC and Swapswire
  • Strong technical background in Credit Derivatives and Emerging Market products and systems
  • An understanding of an end to end Project Lifecycle
  • Good presentation, negotiation and time-management skills
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong Change focus with ability to work with various levels within the organization in order meet established deadlines
  • Control focused & ability to prioritise multiple responsibilities
  • Prior experience of attending/representing organisations in key industry forums (ISDA, etc )
  • Understanding and experience of regulatory initiatives and programmes of work.
  • Detail orientated with strong analytical skills
  • Very strong collaboration and influencing skills given breadth of virtual' teams the role requires interaction with.
