Description

Summary:
  • The Senior Project Manager leads and manages medium and large scale projects with complex requirements, mentors and collaborates with other project managers and support staff, specific to the operational needs of the Member and Medi-Cal Operations service area.
  • This position is responsible for managing all aspects of projects including project and/or program initiation, scope management, time management, cost, risk and quality management efforts.
  • Knowledgeable and well versed in Project Management processes to facilitate, mentor as well as lead diverse project teams.
  • Works with IS and business service area management, vendors and staff to define project scopes, setting priorities, developing and managing project/program plans, tracking issues and resolution, managing the implementation, driving continued progress with related solutions and overseeing all aspects of assigned project.
  • Integral to the success of this position is positive interaction with business service area staff, management, third party contractors/vendors, Plan Partners and IS department resources to ensure effective management and momentum of information systems/technology projects, as well as organizational strategic initiatives.
  • In addition, incumbent will establish and maintain effective professional work relationships, working collaboratively with all levels of Management and business service areas to help guide the discipline of planning, organizing, securing, managing, leading, and controlling resources to achieve specific goals.
SKILLS:

Skills/Qualifications:
  • Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, related field; or 7 years + experience managing large projects.
  • Knowledge of QA (Quality Assurance) and Testing disciplines and standard practices.
  • Formal project management skills, SDLC Methodology training and disciplines.
  • Training and knowledge of SDLC (System Development Life Cycle) standards, guidelines and best practices.
  • Training and thorough knowledge of QA (Quality Assurance) and Testing disciplines and standard practices.
  • Certification in project management disciplines, standards and best practices.
  • Project Management certification (PMP).
  • At least 7 years of Project Management experience in an organizational setting.
