MUST HAVE HYDRAULIC EXPERIENCE

Purpose of the Job

Maintaining, inspecting and repairing a fleet of cranes (Crawler Cranes, Telescopic Cranes, Telehandlers, Telescopic Work Platforms etc.), trucks and equipment, in order to ensure a high standard of maintenance is achieved at all times. For at least 80% of the time you will be in the local repair center/work shop, aiming to prevent and to Remedy failures, according to the applicable quality-, safety-, health- and environmental regulations of Quanta's Client's.

A Field Service Technician is working independently for 80% of the time on (different) locations, for on-site maintenance, repair and inspection of equipment, also abroad - frequent travelling required.

Key Tasks
  • Executing preventative and periodic repairs, inspections, maintenance and vehicle servicing on all cranes, trailers, trucks and other equipment on location or in workshop at Quanta's Client's site, by using amongst others diagnostic devices and tests.
  • Assembling and dissembling of parts.
  • Performing of operational checks after repairs/maintenance.
  • Daily reports of executed work and foreseen major repairs and repetitive problems, according to Quanta's Client's standards and instructions.
  • Striving for continuous improvement towards own performance and that of team during project.
  • Being an Ambassador of Quanta's Client towards (future) clients, suppliers, other third parties and internally.

Job Requirements - Competencies & Profile
Education

  • Recognised technical qualification in mechanics (eg City & Guilds/BTEC/NVQ) or demonstrable equivalent by experience (for NL: MTS)
  • Industry related Safety Certificate
  • Other training related to the proper fulfilling of the role and/or the performance within Quanta's Client

Knowledge/Skills

  • Reading and understanding hydraulic and electrical schematic drawings
  • MUST HAVE HYDRAULIC EXPERIENCE
  • A hands-on, practical and down-to-earth personality
  • Action and result-driven with a flexible attitude
  • Able to communicate effectively at all levels
  • Knowledge of mechanics required to perform mechanical maintenance (welding, flame cutting, repairs)
  • Knowledge of electrics in order to fault find and to perform electrical maintenance
  • Knowledge of hydraulics in order to fault find and to perform hydraulic maintenance
  • Basic operational understanding of cranes: knows how to manipulate the outriggers and the boom correctly, knows how to boom up and down and how to turn the crane
  • Proven ability to manage time, meet deadlines, and work under deadline pressure
  • Has a full valid driving licence
  • Able to work with forklift truck, telehandler, etc.
  • Good command of the local language (spoken and written).
  • For Field Service Technician: also good command of the English language.
  • Basic knowledge of current and accepted computerised packages
  • Knowledge of Quanta's Client Safety, Health, Quality and Environmental regulations and procedures
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation and instructions.
  • For Field Service Technician: being able to detect and solve problems independently and interacting effectively with clients in a direct manner, also abroad.
