Description

General Duties:
  • Maintain advanced computer skills necessary to fully utilize CMMS for work order management, equipment history maintenance, and parts/material inventory and tracking.
  • In accordance with established processes and procedures, provide daily work planning and scheduling for a multi-functional work team through CMMS, track and report completion of work.
  • Coordinate scheduling of services provided by outside vendors, and logistical coordination with other stakeholders in support of the stated position purpose.
  • Communicate clearly, understand and acknowledge verbal instructions, and be able to read and interpret work from various means of communication.
  • Support Asset Management by processing equipment transfers, capital equipment orders, and tracking instruments for capitalization reports.
  • Understand and comply with Standard Operating Procedures and Instructions.
  • Provide support to other team members during an absence to ensure business continuity.
Primary Duties:
  • Process corrective work orders, schedule monthly calibrations and preventive maintenance work to technicians or contractors.
  • Coordinate service with vendors, provide escort to instruments, and update work orders with service information.
  • Scan, upload, and attach documents to work orders.
  • Track, verify, and update instrument information in CMMS.
  • Work closely with customers to understand service needs and coordinate delivery of service.
  • Identify and order parts, especially in preparation for planned work. Maintain parts inventory.
  • Physically locate and track equipment to maintain accurate inventory of Fixed Assets.
  • Utilize electronic ordering system to place and track expense and capital purchases.
  • Estimate work order completion times and compare to actual.
  • Provide support in managing the CMMS (computerized maintenance management system) database through asset management and work order management.
  • Position will support the maintenance of laboratory equipment through coordinating service visits, entering service details in CMMS, and following up with vendors, as well as, tracking and reporting department metrics for management.
  • Provide support in managing the acquisition, utilization tracking, redeployment, and disposition of laboratory instrument assets.
  • Act as logistics coordinator for laboratory equipment transfers for inter- and intra-site transfer of assets.
SKILLS:

Training/Education and Experience:
  • Training or Certification in database administration or two to five year experience managing a CMMS or database is required. Training in reporting software (ie. Cognos, Crystal Reports, etc) is a plus.
  • Database management and excellent computer skills, especially with Microsoft products, is required.
  • Familiarity with general lab equipment and working with vendors is highly desired.
  • Software Skills - SAP
  • CMMS and SOP experience is required
  • The manager is looking for candidates that are highly technical, preferably with experience in a CMMS (computerized maintenance management system) and other databases such as Maximo, Blue Mountain, SAP, etc. The system itself can be taught, but they need to have fairly good computer skills.
