Partner Manager - IT Infrastructure Suppliers

IT Sourcing
Partner Manager is a position in the COO Office. The COO Office makes the strategic role of the COO possible by analysing and preparing choices around target architectures and roadmaps, IT investment plans, platform choices and strategic cooperation with suppliers. A large part of the purchases of Equens covers IT, mostly in large and complex partnerships with suppliers, but also in the form of hundreds of small contracts. Our Partner Managers, Contract Life Cycle Manager, Asset Manager and Sourcing Analyst in the IT Sourcing team are responsible for ensuring a fruitful cooperation with strategic partners and to rationalize the more operational purchasing. The Partner Manager IT Infrastructure manages the largest Infrastructure vendors with a combination of contract, performance, relationship or risk management roles. He or she owns and must understand contractual, commercial and operational working relationships with vendors to ensure that contractual commitments are delivered across IT.

Primary Responsibilities and Activities

Manage the portfolio of largest IT infrastructure vendors

  • Assess and improve contractual situation per vendor, consolidate vendor contracts over multiple countries and domains
  • Manage delivery of the contractual obligations on a strategic and tactical level
  • Conduct strategic and tactical vendor management meetings
  • Internally align on current and future required services and translate this into contractual requirements
  • Ensure risk and compliance aspects related to the financial service industry are taken into account and monitored
  • Define savings and improvements related to the vendors and their domains

Lead vendor selection processes

  • Define and set-up together with procurement selection processes and contract negotiations
  • Have thorough knowledge of prices in the market and current contracting conditions like pricing models, SLA's, performance management and roles and responsibilities

Communicate and align with stakeholders

  • Ensure internal awareness and alignment on vendor performance, improvement areas, saving areas

The ideal candidate has/is:

  • 8+ years of IT experience in large, multiple, cross-functional team(s) and project(s) and influencing senior management and key stakeholders of which 3 years related to IT sourcing or vendor management.
  • 3+ years experience with vendor relationship management, contract negotiation, contract administration, project or asset management in an infrastructure environment;
  • Insight and overview on strategic planning regarding sourcing strategies, programs and partnerships;
  • Adequate (efficient/effective) communication, written as well as oral in languages commonly used within Client Site;
  • You are flexible, very good in planning, organizing and initiating;
  • You are cost aware and do progress check;
  • Speaks English fluently;
  • Ability to envisage long term plans for the whole enterprise while also considering the consequences for the tactical implementations and operational day to day matters;
    • Examples: Target Architectures/Roadmaps, IT Investment plans, Platform selection, Strategic vendor partnering;
    • See IT as a means to service our business/clients. But also see IT as a business in itself with its own costs and benefits;
  • Being able to achieve through influence:
    • Create buy in of management by creating viable proposals to improve (the organization of) IT;
    • Create cooperation of work floor by participating in projects/programs;
    • Converging different views and drive towards a common goal;
  • Take initiative:
    • Be proactive and creative to improve Client,and through that, its business;
