My blue chip client based in China are looking for a contractor to work in their Shanghai office (though would consider Hong Kong).
The role is customer facing and requires someone to be account executive to support existing customers. The client is in the card payments industry so they require someone who has previous payment industry experience preferably within debit or credit cards. To suit you will understand the full payments life cycle and payments network covering issuing, acquiring, authorisations and security so that for any customer issues you are able to communicate with the customer and speak with the correct teams internally to resolve these.
The role will be split 40% with dealing with customers, engaging with them to bring on new projects, rollouts and implementations. Resolving any issues they have with respect to their payments processes and engaging the right team internally to support these.
40% will be day to day support around payments and 20% will be i other internal adhoc projects and requests and backing up other regions like Hong Kong and the USA
The candidate will be required to travel within the Asia region to meet customers as required, its anticipated any trips will be 2-3 days.
Languages: ideally fluent Mandarin and English.
The client appreciates that you may not have all the relevant experience to hit the ground from day 1 so is prepared to give training. Ideally you will have a payments industry background whether as customer support, technical project manager, technical implementation manager.
You will have good communication skills, be willing to learn and flexible in your approach.
The contract is initially for 10 months but very likely to be extended.
