Description

Senior Portfolio Manager - Glasgow - 6 months (4 or 5 days per week)

We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced portfolio manager for an initial 6 months' contract based in Glasgow with our public sector client. The client is happy to consider applicants who can work either 4 or 5 days per week.

You will be required to deliver and assist with procurement, prepare call-offs, lead procurement contribution to stakeholder engagement, have a full understanding of when and how to negotiate and has experience of successfully conducting negotiations.

Essential skills -

  • Capable of supporting, planning and leading significant procurement projects and best practice delivery.
  • Fully understands when and how to negotiate and has good experience of successfully conducting negotiations.
  • Understands issues and benefits of collaboration and may at times play key role in delivery including best practice initiatives.
  • Support the development and drafting of complex specifications and can support and lead EU procurement projects including leading tender evaluation of complex requirements.
  • Effectively manage debriefing of suppliers liaising with legal advisers where necessary.
  • Understands the role of contract management and works closely with customers to manage contracts and ensure delivery of value for money
  • Demonstrate strong time and task management, with an ability to make progress on a number of activities concurrently.
  • Demonstrate strong attention to detail, yet provide pragmatic solutions for consideration within sourcing strategies.
  • Able to engage with a range of stakeholders, from senior officials to junior team members, as well as senior staff from suppliers.
  • Manage internal and external relationships, creating positive networks and maintaining trust and credibility.
  • Able to communicate clear & creative ideas that meet the needs of a range of audiences, ensuring objectives & outcomes are achieved.
  • Can produce concise, clear, well-structured written work.
  • Organise and collate robust information from a variety of sources to support decision making in procurement, with particular emphasis on collaboration, benefits and best practice.

Desirable skills -

  • Experience and understanding of energy efficiency contracts.
  • Experience of working in procurement of utilities

Candidates will be expected to hold a Basic Disclosure Scotland or be happy to undergo this clearance.
