Our Pharmaceutical client is looking for a Project Engineering Lead to manage an existing API engineering business unit. The location is 30 minutes from Hanover and initially the contract will run for 10-12 months, with the possibility of extension.Tasks:
Manage a team of six engineers (3 x FTE’s & 3 x Externals / Contractors) – co-ordinate the engineering activities in an existing API manufacturing building.
- Leading / attending internal meetings
- Manage small scale API projects – equipment / system upgrades and replacement projects
- Manage the €2.5 million expansion of their API capacity
- Managing, coordinating and communicating with internal and external stakeholders
- Oversee vendor selection
- Oversee selected equipment suppliers
- Budget management
- Project Scheduling
Main Equipment (API experience) : Reactors, dryers; IBUs; HVAC systems; Chillers
This role will report into the site M & E Manager, who has three managers reporting into him on-site: Maintenance Manager; Facilities Manager and this role – Project Engineering Lead.
Experience:
Essential:
- Process / Mechanical / Electrical Engineering degree or similar work experience.
- Experience of running an engineering team OR engineering projects lead (or a Snr Project Engineer with some people management experience)
- Fluent German and English language skills required.
- Relevant work experience in the API pharmaceutical sector OR Bio pharma (Drug Substance) experience including good GMP / FDA experience (10 years plus commercial experience required)
Nice to have:
- Experience of managing engineers
- A proven track record in delivery of complex cross-functional projects, ideally upgrade / revamp / brownfield projects.
- Experience working as a lead engineer on engineering projects demonstrating the required technical know-how.
- The job-holder must be a highly self-motivated and an energised individual with strong drive and reputation for on-time delivery, able to present complex material in a succinct manner appropriate to support prompt decision making.
