For a project at our banking client site in Zurich starting in April until the end of 2016 we are looking for an experienced

IT Security Engineer - Access Control / AD / Netapp (3636)

The core of the project is remediating control failures around the ownership and entitlements to shared network resources. It's part of an overall program which is rolling out virtual desktops to tens of thousands of users across many global locations. The software engineer we are looking for is required to help remediate significant technical issues with the visibility and integrity of permissions applied to shared network drives. In addition, the candidate will develop tooling and reporting to support the global rollout of virtual desktops.

The qualifications we are looking for in brief:
  • In-depth knowledge of access control concepts and tools related to Microsoft Active Directory and Windows / Netapp file systems
  • Access and/or Excel VBA ; Windows scripting
  • Strong data analysis skills, particularly with Excel, CSV, MS Access and similar formats.
  • Ability to manipulate large data sets and provide clear, concise reports, for example '..all effective permissions across all shares and sub-directories..'
  • German is a nice to have, but not necessary


In essence, the consultant will have to perform the following tasks:
  • Analyse file systems and permissions, for example to discover integrity issues or security policy violations
  • Discovery, analysis and remediation of inconsistent Inheritance flags on file systems
  • Support folder re-structuring or migration of data between file servers / domains
  • Develop tooling and reports to support project team communication with end users, and to manage automated changes to permissions, file system structure, ownership and other metadata
  • Consult / recommend process changes to create sustainable solutions for access rights and inheritance
