Contract Term: 6 months
Key Responsibilities
- Install, administrate and maintain our highly available European Windows Server and data center infrastructure (Storage Area Network, Blade Compute, etc.)
- Manage and maintain the Citrix environment across the region
- Manage and support the Backup architecture (EMC Networker and Data Domain)
- Manager and support the VMware infrastructure
- 3rd level support for national and international users and services in 13 office sites and 2 European data centres
- Perform Disaster Recovery planning and testing and perform patching at firmware and software levels
- Participate in out-of-hours call out rota and ability to respond to critical events from time to time
- Monitor our production environment and initiate actions to avoid possible issues
- Identify departmental infrastructure needs and make suggestions regarding technical direction
- Identify system data, hardware, or software components required to meet user needs, and participate in infrastructure solution design
- Work with the Information Services team to implement proposed solutions
- Document designed systems and provide post implementation support during the life of the solution
- Propose and document changes following our internal change policies
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related equivalent work experience
- A minimum of 7 years of experience in a large corporate environment on the items mentioned above
- Broad knowledge of networking, including WAN, LAN, VLAN
- Expert knowledge and experience of maintaining an Enterprise VMware infrastructure including high availability and disaster recovery technologies (SRM)
- Minimum VMware Certified Professional (VCP), with VCAP or VCDX an advantage
- Expert knowledge designing and maintaining a Citrix Server infrastructure, Citrix Apps, VDI and Netscalar technologies
- Knowledge of HP 3Par software and hardware, HP Blade Centre a distinct advantage
- In depth experience in designing and building Data-center infrastructure to enterprise standards and designing distributed office computer and communication rooms
- Exceptional attention to detail with good judgement in a logical and structured approach to work.
- Ability to travel infrequently would be approximately 10%, but may be higher based on the schedule of project initiatives and events
- Customer and Service oriented individual, used to business environments that expect very high stability of IT services
- Exceptional troubleshooting skills required across the full technology stack
- Excellent interpersonal skills, ability to work effectively and cooperatively with all levels of management, staff and contractors; exhibit a professional manner in dealing with others
- Detailed knowledge about Windows operating systems (Windows 7, Server 2008, Server 2012, Exchange, SQL, File Services, Azure)
- Very good time and priority management, dealing with project and operational requests
- Knowledge about ITIL processes and IT Service Management
- Experience with ticketed users requests and controlled change management procedures, preferably in an ITIL or similar environment
Minimum of stamp 4 is essential in order to be considered for this role.
