Description
We have a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Civil Engineer for a 19-month contact with our public sector client based in Glasgow.
This post requires an experienced civil engineer ideally with experience of working in a public sector or social housing environment.
Essential skills -
- Substantial experience of all stages of Ground Remediation works, including onsite supervision as NEC3 ECC Supervisor and/or Resident Engineer or equivalent.
- 10 years post graduate experience in Civil Engineering with a minimum of two years in Ground Remediation
- Current CITB CSCS card holder.
- Must be familiar with the risks and hazards associated with asbestos and other common hazardous materials.
- Knowledge of latest relevant Codes of Practice, British Standards and legislation.
- An understanding of the Health & Safety at Work etc. Act 1974.
- Good organisational skills.
- Effective communicator both verbal and written.
- Contribute to the good working relationships within the project team Employers staff and with members of the public.
- Computer literate in MS Office
- Ability to work on own initiative as an individual and as a team member
- Flexible and able to adhere to site hours and meet deadlines.
Desirable
- Experience in the use of NEC3 ECC on Civil Engineering contracts
- Experience in carrying out the duties of the Supervisor under NEC3 ECC.
- Degree in Civil Engineering, or equivalent qualification.
- A professional qualification in Civil Engineering 'Fellow' or "Member" of a recognised professional institution
- A qualification in health and safety.
- Knowledge of latest CDM Regulations.
