Description
Roc Search's client based in West Midlands is seeking an experienced interim engineering manager on 6-12 months contract. You will be responsible for leading a small team of engineers and assisting with improving processes within a manufacturing environment.
Responsibilities:
*Improve processes, make them faster and strengthen weak parts and sides
*Optimise machinery
*Analyse which presses are really needed
*Lead the own team with clear direction and alignment
*Define KPIs per process (die-casting, welding, stamping)
*Recommend to invest into one new die-cast machine or overhaul the existing four machines
*Develop a common understanding of lean production; implement lean production in close cooperation with the colleagues and with support from the Managing Director
*Keep the overview, realise decisions and plan, but do not stick in details
*Identify actions for improvement and recommends them by own initiative
Key Skills:
*Engineering degree, preferred in mechanical engineering or comparable
*At least 10 years of experience in engineering, manufacturing or process engineering
*Familiar with at least one Lean Management/Lean Production method
*Intimate with stamping, die-casting, polishing and/or tool shop (at least one of those)
*Not only technical but also cost and profit oriented
*Strong argumentation skills to convince management, colleagues and Managing Director
