Software V&V/Integration Test Engineer - Infrastructure, virtualisation, shared computing, requirements management
An Software V&V/Integration Test Engineer with Infrastructure, virtualisation, shared computing and requirements management is required to work on a six month contract (with the possibility of extension) for our Defence client based in Surrey
Overview of the Software V&V/Integration Test Engineer contract role
- Specifying and performing qualification testing of the Submarine Combat System Infrastructure in accordance with project schedules, processes and standards to demonstrate compliance with functional requirements
- Defining and maintaining system and sub-system acceptance test plans and procedures
- Documenting observations and problems revealed during testing and assisting with the investigation and identification of solutions
- Assisting with the development of innovative certification and acceptance strategies to facilitate the exploitation of COTS technologies in a military environment
- Compilation of formal test reports detailing the outcome of test events
- Managing formal system requirements, including definition, decomposition and compilation of compliance evidence
- Specifying and implementing enhancements to test methods, scripts and tools
- Supporting equipment and software integration trials on the submarine platform
Key skills required for the Software V&V/Integration Test Engineer
- Essential Experience in verification and validation of complex systems including definition of test schedules, scenarios, scripts, environments and tools
- Essential Knowledge of COTS Infrastructure, virtualisation, shared computing and networks (experience of VMware would be a distinct advantage)
- Essential Requirements management experience and accompanying requirements management toolsets such as DOORS
- Essential Proven track record in problem analysis and devising solutions to problems encountered during testing.
- Desirable - Experience of the test and qualification of products in a military surface ship, submarine or aircraft environment.
The role is based in Surrey - commutable from Aldershot, Farnborough, Wokingham, Bracknell, Chertsey, Weybridge, Woking, Guildford, Farnham, Winchester, Basingstoke and Reading with excellent access from Hampshire and Berkshire
