Job Title: I.T. Infrastructure Support EngineerLocation: Cork
Length of Assignment: 11 months (rolling contract)
As an I.T. Infrastructure Engineer in the Automation department your duties will cover areas such as the following:
? Supporting existing Automation infrastructure (Network switches, routers, wireless APs, firewalls, Server OS’, Client OS’, Server & client hardware, cabling infrastructure etc...)
? Day to day support: Trouble shooting issues/faults on automation infrastructure (network, cabling, servers, workstations, operating systems issues, etc...)
? Supporting Automation infrastructure projects (installation of new networks, switches & switching, routers & routing, wireless networks/APs, servers, workstations, etc...)
? Installing and configuring Cisco network hardware (switches, routers, wireless access points and some firewall work)
? Documenting the automation infrastructure systems
? Installing Ethernet networks
? Copper & Fibre network patching
? Building test & development automation networks and systems
? Supporting test & development automation systems
? Managing test and development systems windows domains
? Cat 5e/Cat 6/Cat 7 UTP & FTP Cable routing, patching and terminations
? Installing and configuring windows servers (2003, 2008)
? Installing and configuring windows client workstations (Windows XP, Windows 7)
? Installing and configuring automation apps (e.g. Emerson DeltaV)
? Disaster recovery planning, design, testing, implementation and documentation for automation infrastructure & systems
? Installing and configuring network management apps (e.g. Dell Open Manage, Cisco Network Administrator, Solarwinds IP monitor, etc...
? Infrastructure Security (inc antivirus, OS Patching, network intrusion monitoring, firewall rule config, etc...)
? VB scripting
Knowledge & experience of most of the following is required for this job
? Computer networking, switching and routing
? Server and PC hardware support
? Network hardware support and config
? Ethernet networks
? Network cabling systems
? Windows Operating systems support (XP/Win7/w2k3/w2k8)
? Windows Active directory & DNS (installation and support)
? Server Architectures
? PC architectures
? Distributed Control Systems / Programmable Logic Controllers
? Network/Server/OS/PC troubleshooting
? Cisco Hardware
? VB Scripting
? SQL
-The ideal candidate for this job will have 7 - 10 years’ experience in an I.T infrastructure related area.
-Experience in the Pharma industry would be beneficial.
