Description

Proteus Europe is searching for an IT Services Manager to begin working on a permanent basis.

Our Client :-
Our client is a large player in the insurance industry based in the stunning, historic city of Winchester, Hampshire.

Your New role :-

To maintain and develop all operational aspects of the computing environment within the business. Our clients IT estate is largely based on Microsoft technology, but over the last two years we have made increasing use of Cloud based solutions such as Salesforce, New Voice Media and Atlassian products. We are in the middle of a large legacy replacement programme which is making use of the latest computing innovations and provides some exciting technology challenges and opportunities. Our clients IT Team prides itself on providing a stable environment and reliable service to both our internal and external partners, with a strong focus on excellent customer service

o To manage and support all members of the team, to include regular performance reviews, objective setting, career development discussions, absence management, training and development opportunities, regular 1:1s and informal feedback on performance.
o Providing a technical interface to the Business, offering technical consultancy for business projects
o Defining and specifying technical specifications for business systems
o Ensuring an effective change control process is used to manage changes to key information systems and data
o Involvement in specific projects where required
o Ensuring all operational areas of IT continue to deliver excellent service to the business
o Provide leadership for the User Support Team, Technical Services Team, and Database Administration Team
o Objective setting and performance review for the IT Services team
o Managing all aspects of the IT services team functions specifically taking overall responsibility for the network management, database administration, telecoms systems management and user support
o Making recommendations for the technical direction for Our clients IT systems, providing input into the long-term strategy and identifying enabling technology that will deliver business benefit
o Monitoring changes within the business that will impact IT, and taking the required action to ensure that appropriate IT support is in place.
o Ensuring that the Our clients IT infrastructure offers a stable extensible platform to support the business
o Managing revenue and capital budgets for the IT Department
o Maintaining a strong focus on customer service to internal and external focus, leading by example
o Effective monitoring of the IT Services team performance
o Ensuring the Our clients IT infrastructure is secure from attack or abuse from internal and external sources
o IT business continuity in the event of a disaster
o Security associated with infrastructure, data and information systems.
o Leadership and co-ordination of the business continuity teams BC plans and preparedness
o Management of change control process
o Resource planning for the IT Services team
o Project portfolio management for the IT Services team
o Management and maintenance of the IT communications room and other areas used by the IT Services team.
o Ensure that supporting technical documentation remains current and fit for purpose
o To ensure departmental continuity and contingency plans are in place in support of Business Continuity Plan.
o To ensure that these plans are maintained, and that members of the department understand their roles within them.
o To act as a source of information on business continuity matters within the department
o Ensuring Our client remains compliant with software licence obligations
o Management of supplier performance and relationships.

Your Skills and experience :-

Essential Skills :-
- Awareness of current technologies, their merits, flaws and uses within a business context
- Awareness of Business Continuity and its importance
- Excellent customer service skills and awareness
- Experience managing operational aspects of IT, specifically Network Administration, Database Administration, Telecomms Administration and User Support functions
- Experience managing Windows networks, strong awareness of LAN.WAN technology
- Strong technical awareness of all Microsoft Backoffice products including SQL server and MS Exchange
- Technical knowledge of security solutions such as Firewalls, Integralis Surfcontrol, IDS and DPS
- Sound understanding of security principles and procedures, including data security and risk
- Experience of Telecomms technology, understanding of contact centres
- Technical project management experience
- Management of change control where the change has impacted the whole business
- Report writing
- Resource management
- Presenting to senior staff
-ITIL (Des)
-Evidence of formal IT training or education
-GCSE Maths and English
-Valid driving licence
