Workstation/Server Admin

Columbia, SC

1 year+ contract

Required Skills/Experience:

  • 3 - 5 years of experience deploying software to Servers and/or workstations.
  • Four years of experience with SCCM, Tivoli Endpoint Manager, WSUS, PsTools, McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator (ePO), or equivalent software deployment tools.
  • A+ certification is required.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Server and desktop operating systems (Windows 7, Windows Server ).
  • Ability to upgrade software and deploy software/OS patches on a continuous and timely basis.
  • Customer service centric; able to trouble shoot issues, answer questions and respond timely to customer requests.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, quick learner, and detail oriented.
  • Ability to work independently or with team members.
  • Effective written and verbal communication to convey technical issues to non-technical people.
  • When necessary, initiate the documentation of software issues and or updates.
  • Participate in daily meetings concerning deployments/implementations.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

  • Knowledge of Active Directory and Group Policies.
  • Experience administering applications in a Citrix (terminal services) environment.
  • Familiarity with Citrix Provisioning.

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in Comp Science, IT, or related field or 4 years combined education and related work experience or a total of eight years job-related experience

Behavior Characteristics:

  • Must have excellent customer service skills and be very detail oriented. Ability to handle stressful situations with a level head.
