Payroll Specialist

THE ORGANISATION:

We are currently looking for a Payroll Specialist to join our team in London. The successful candidate must be able to start immediately.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Accountable for the overall operations of the payroll vendor in order to maintain and improve overall quality of the delivery.
  • Collation of payroll changes from all sources - managers, administration, finance, HR and employees.
  • Provision of payroll data to the vendor in agreed format to agreed timescales, detailing all changes, starters and leavers in month.
  • Check, validate and reconcile all reports prior to Live run, manually checking calculations for statutory payments such as LTS, hourly/daily rates of pay, redundancy etc. Providing clarification with exceptions.
  • Processing of Tax Year End, including P60's and P11D's.
  • Generating, reconciling and sending/uploading 3rd party reports (pension and childcare vouchers), Liaising with relevant vendors where necessary for issue resolution or service reviews. Inclusive of adhering to Auto enrolment of Pension for all new starters.
  • Collation and dissemination of information to HMRC Dispensations/PSA's and P11D's along with adherence to local legislation, internal policies, procedures and authorisations for audit control and governance purposes.
  • Serve as an escalation contact for complex employee queries, ensuring all irregularities and issues are resolved and the employee is responded to in an appropriate manner. Providing clarification regarding payroll related policy and procedures where necessary.
  • Provision of monthly reporting inclusive of payroll quality metrics, supporting finance with journal reports and other ad-hoc requirements.
  • Undertake regular payroll audit checks to ensure SOX compliance.
  • Managing relationship with Brokers to ensure that we obtain competitive, annual market rates in relation to PMI, DIS and GIP
  • Managing monthly cleansing of all benefits adding starters and removal of leavers

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Extensive knowledge of UK payroll processing including current knowledge of HMRC legislation, employment law; along with detailed knowledge of tax, NI payroll issues.
  • Proven track record in managing effective internal controls and compliance across the payroll function inclusive of experience of Sarbanes-Oxley compliance.
  • Understanding of Benefits processing & liaising with Brokers.
  • Experience with Stock equity, RSU and inter-country transfers and modified payroll.
  • Focus on attention to detail, high levels of accuracy with analytical & problem solving skills.
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines, strong time management and organisation skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
