Global Vendor, End Client: Leading Global Bank (Project running until 2020) Long-term contract
The Senior Cloud Network Specialist will, under minimal supervision, be responsible for designing, supporting, managing and maintaining all aspects of the customers Private Cloud network infrastructure using VMware NSX. In addition, this position is responsible for responding to direct inquiries from users on subjects of networking connectivity and performance issues. The Senior Cloud Network Specialist will work independently and as part of a global team to urgently analyze technical issues and support our clients who have critical response time requirements for their cloud infrastructure..
Manage external technology vendor relationships.
Maintain and manage network system performance using available tools to optimize system availability or resolve issues.
Analyze user needs, network performance, system capacity and other data in order to proactively maintain the global wide area network environment. Assist with moves/adds/changes as required
Test and evaluate new technology and applications as needed. Make recommendations to management
Effectively communicate technical standards, policies and procedures to end-user community
Knowledge of virtualization and cloud concepts
Knowledge of system capacity and tuning
Knowledge of network protocols such as DNS, SMTP, NTP
Knowledge of networking services such as Load Balancing, Routing, DMZs and Firewalls
Required Technical Proficiencies:VMware NSX 6.1.x and 6.2.x
- VMware ESXi 5.5 vDS
- Palo Alto Panorama 7.0.x
- Palo Alto PA-VM (VMware based Virtual Firewalls)
- Brocade Switching (VDX, MLX, ICX)
- Routing Protocols (OSPF, BGP, MPLS)
- Switching Protocols (VLAN, PVLANS, LLDP, ISL & IEE 802.1Q, LACP
Preferred Technical Proficiencies:
- Security software such as Anti-virus, Anti-SPAM, Anti-Spyware, and other security related technologies
Familiarization with VMware vRealize suite
- Understanding of Cloud Concepts and services
- Server operating systems (Windows 2012 and Linux Red Hat)
- System capacity and performance tuning
- Central authentication (TACACS)
- CISSP or security background/knowledge preferred
- SNMP, Syslog
Base Requirements:
- Qualified candidates must have a minimum of 5 years' experience working in a like role or 3 years of experience working in Managed Services
Ability to quickly learn new technologies as required
Ability to work in a high-pressure environment.
