Civil Construction Engineer (Senior Civil Site Engineer)



Summary:



The Civil Construction Engineer provides support and reports to the General Site Manager. He is responsible for construction and erection of all the civil works supplied by different parties and the interfaces to others scope and provide proper and expedient technical direction required to support these activities.



The Civil Construction Engineer coordinates the civil works and the erection of civil components.Duties and Responsibilities (Technical):



- Responsible for construction and erection of all civil works and civil components



- checking of field erection documentation, including “as-built” documentation



- monitoring subcontractors to ensure conformity to planning, compliance with specifications, fulfilment of contractual stipulations, observance of site rules & regulations, permit-to-work procedures, clarification and completion of any outstanding items and review of method statements



- technical review of subcontractor partial payment instalments in correlation with the Quantity Surveyor



- assuring that the tasks under his responsibility are in accordance with applicable state and national laws



- on-time completion of allocated TOPs, RFE’s and handover to the mechanical, electrical or commissioning team



- Checks to ensure timely receipt of complete civil construction and field erection documents.



Duties and Responsibilities (Administrative):



- Instruction of subcontractors before they begin work, and coordination of subcontractor’s activities



- Checks to ensure timely receipt of complete field erection documents



- reporting on progress of civil work, keeping a daily log of erection works



- reporting of disagreements and non-conformances to allow initiation of project-specific solutions and to ensure information and experience feedback



- Provision of support for project concurrent cost accounting: detection, reporting and recording of additional costs as well as claims-relevant conditions and events, including documentation thereof



- ensuring compliance with the requirements, regulations and procedures governing occupational health & safety and environmental protection within his or her own scope of responsibility



- Control of and participation in acceptance testing performed by the customer and/or regulatory authorities



- acceptance testing and takeover of supplies and services from subcontractors and handover to the customer



- providing assistance in matters of claims management; reporting any contractual deviations to the contract manager, and providing support in the preparation of outgoing claims and defence against incoming claims



- Time schedule tracking and updating of level 3 time scheduling



- controlling of manpower deployment  



Qualification:



- Experience in organisation and execution of construction and erection of civil works and systems



- English language in writing and speaking



- Technical qualification to interpret erection documentation and software
