Local Authority based in Bromley is looking to recruit a Contracts Officer on an initial 3 months Contract.

Role:
- Draft a service specification, invite and evaluate tenders, produce and agree contracts for services taking the lead, continually monitor contractors performance and compliance with the contract terms and requirements and that goods and services are delivered and service quality is maintained
- Ensure appropriate payments are made for any devolved budget
- Safeguard the Council's assets, eg buildings and equipment, used by contractors
- Understand the day to day workings of, monitor and liaise, negotiate, and work jointly with contractors
- Ensure effective planning and scheduling and carrying out of the monitoring of contracts and Service Level Agreements (SLAs)
- Prepare service specifications, tender invitations and draft contracts, invite and evaluate tender submissions, make recommendations for awarding contracts and negotiate contracts and contract details and agreements and seeking benchmark costs for comparison and obtain and/or coordinate specialist help or advice where necessary.
- Meet with contractors, compliance with contracts, including suitable CRB checks and references have been obtained
- To carry out financial assessments of tenders and deal with the whole contracting process
Skills:
- Experience is a like role would be preferred
- Ability to advise on and undertake tender evaluations
- IT literate
- knowledge of key challenges, resource issues and client needs in social care, health and housing
- Good knowledge of legislation and best practice relating to contracting and current agendas in Social Care, Health and Housing (Preferred)
- Ideally of Contract legislation and its impact on local Government.
