Credit Risk Manager - Hands on, Counterparty Credit Risk, Management

A leading financial services organisation is recruiting a Credit Risk Manager for a 12 month contract. You will be responsible for conducting and managing credit risk assessments and continual monitoring of various counterparties including banks and corporates to protect the organisation from financial loss as a result of systemic, economic and counterparty failure.

As a Credit Risk Manager you will be responsible for:

  • Ensuring the organisation is protected from financial loss due to pre-paid, settlement, sovereign and high risk merchant risks in compliance with risk policies.
  • Contributing to the development of Member Risk policy and preparing the first draft for board papers.
  • Monitoring exposure and running financial risk analysis on large and high risk counterparties.
  • Monitoring micro and macro-economic status of the countries in which the organisation operates.
  • Analysing the credit risk of new and existing counterparties, and present reviews to management.
  • Identifying and undertaking counterparty visits
  • Managing counterparty settlement exposure by ensuring daily settlements are promptly received and validated.
  • Leading a team of Credit Risk Analysts and deputising for the Head of Member Risk in their absence.

The successful candidate will have:

  • Significant bank/corporate counterparty and sovereign risk analysis experience within the financial services industry
  • Educated to degree level or equivalent
  • People management experience
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Excellent numerical and analytical skills
  • High accuracy and attention to detail
