Description
A Global Renewable Energy client is looking for a Quality Engineer to work on its offshore wind farm project. Our client is looking for the Quality Engineer to start this 12 month freelance role as soon as possible. The project Quality Engineer will be responsible for a wide range of quality, assurance, management, control, audit inspection and surveillance planning activities. Responsibilities initially will be managing the Electrical System Works and Cable packages of work. The Quality Engineer maybe required to travel from time to time to the clients other office UK / EuropeResponsibilities:
- Monitor conformance and expedite progress of the works and report upon it. Write surveillance plans and other QA documentation in order to implement a fit for purpose quality management system
- Review, comment and approve quality plans, inspect and test plans. Expedite required quality documentation that is not that forthcoming
- Plan and make arrangements of surveillance of production and inspection of equipment at manufacturing works or site
- Receive notification of Witness Points (WP) and expedite expected WP where notifications are not received
- Receive, log and analyse reports
- Report on progress/escalate the Quality Manager and Package Managers
- Share knowledge at regular meetings
Knowledge and Skills:
- Educated to degree qualified engineer or time served apprentice with a minimum of HNC qualification (or equivalent) in an engineering or maintenance disciple (Electrical HV/LV, mechanical or Civil
- ISO 9001 – 2008 Lead Auditor/previously held qualification or equivalent
- Experience working in a similar Quality Engineer role within an offshore wind environment (other industries with transferrable skills may be considered)
- Significant experience working in a high voltage electrical engineering environment to 400kV
- Good understanding of quality requirements and risks in an offshore environment and the associate standards
- IT Literate
