A leading global pharmaceutical organisation is expanding its current biopharmaceutical facilities in the Cork area and is looking for an experienced Downstream Process Engineer to support the Technical Transfer activities, with a focus on continuous improvement.Overview
- This role will report to the USP/DSP Technology Lead.
- Process Engineer with focus on Downstream Processing in the Biopharmaceutical industry.
- Successful candidate will be working with a cross-functional project team with strong connection to the site Operations and Technical Groups to successfully deliver project Tech Transfer activity milestones.
- Candidate will be required to work across all areas of Downstream Processing and prior experience of working on a Technology Transfer project is highly desirable.
- Key member of Technology Transfer Project Team
- Delivery of key deliverables on schedule
- Responsible for driving Continuous Improvement by deploying Six Sigma tools
- Communicate effectively with all levels of management, directing personnel and project teams, as appropriate
- Make timely decisions at the right level with the right data, and support them once made.
- Adhere to the highest standards of trustworthy and ethical behaviour in all interactions .
- Advise on risk prevention opportunities including hazardous materials, project milestones, costs and deliverables
- Optimise existing operations and practices with focus on continuous improvement initiatives.
- Work cross-functionally to actively identify risks and provide possible alternatives and solutions.
- Provide technical expertise in investigations and develop innovative solutions, implement corrective and preventive action plans to address problems.
- As applicable, train and coach colleagues on area of responsibility in assigned project area.
- Degree in a Science discipline (preferably Biotechnology).
- Green Belt or suitable alternative
- Evidence of Continuous Professional Development
- Prior experience of working on a Technology Transfer project is highly desirable.
- 5 years' experience in Pharmaceutical/Biopharmaceutical industry or a similar operating environment
