Description
A leading global banking institution is looking for project accountants to provide financial assistance on their IT transformation programme.
This role will sit within the programme team responsible for driving financial, process and cultural change to the business area.
The successful candidate will be working closely with IT project managers and project teams. The project accountant will be monitoring a collective suite of projects providing financial advice and guidance. This exciting new role is based in Canary Wharf, the contract will have a 6 month initial duration with a strong potential of extensions.
Main responsibilities
- Business case development to gain procedure approval
- Secure funding
- Monitoring project expenditure and project benefit generation
- Monitoring monthly project milestones and provide forecast updates to support Project Control Function.
- Aid management knowledge and understanding of project movement and variance
- Provide financial support and advice to new projects (attend project review meetings)
- Challenge constructively the estimations and assumptions made towards projects to ensure high quality submission into Annual Operating Plan (AOP) and budget processes.
- Ensure Programme and Project Directors have high quality financial support and advice to meet project milestones
- Prepare and present financial reports
The successful candidate will have the following:
- Programme/Project Accounting experience
- Tier 1 Banking experience
- High attention to detail with analytical thought process
- Cross functional communication skills (finance and IT)
