Capability Development Engineer - Lean, Process improvement

A Capability Development Engineer with Lean, Process improvement is required to work on a six month contract (WITH THE POSSIBILITY OF EXTENSION) for our Defence client based in Lancashire.

We have an opportunity to work for our customer involved in the air sector and also offer an array of associated training solutions, support and information services for customers worldwide.

Overview of the Capability Development Engineer contract role

There is a requirement for a Capability Development Engineer within the Support Products Capability Development Team to proactively identify opportunities to improve our product set, enhance our customer's experience and develop new business opportunities.

Key skills required for the Capability Development Engineer

The job holder will need to be a self starter but will report to the Section Leader of the Support Products Capability Development Team will be responsible for the preparation of improvement proposals covering people, processes, toolsets, technology and infrastructure (PPTTI).

Liaison with various Technical and Support Departments will be required and excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a multi disciplined team are essential. Previous experience with lean, business or process improvement initiatives would be advantageous.

Preparation of improvement proposals across the following capabilities:

People Processes Tools Technology Infrastructure

Supporting Lean breakthrough type events
Ability to challenge the status quo
Maintaining configuration control of workload
Manage individual workload to meet agreed requirements and timescales
Actively generate and continuously maintain communication at all levels within the Support Products environment
Adopt a professional approach when communicating or liaising with external departments
Comply with all Company, Project and Departmental procedures and regulations, including Export Control, Product Safety and Health & Safety
Maintain accurate booking of hours for all work tasks undertaken.

The role is based in Lancashire - commutable from Preston, Blackpool, Chorley, Leyland, Blackburn, Darwen, Burnley, Skipton, Stockport, Manchester, Warrington, Wigan, Bolton, Bury, Rochdale and Oldham with excellent access from Liverpool, Lancaster and Leeds
