Description

We are looking for a Management Accountant from an engineering or manufacturing background to join a market-leading Aerospace and Defence company for a position based in Glasgow.

Role Profile

The role will incorporate management & financial accounting responsibilities, working within the operational entity. The role will have responsibility for ensuring all month end deadlines are met and reporting packages submitted accurately and efficiently, along with this the Accountant will provide accurate, timely and reliable information with supporting analysis & comments as required.

The role will provide regular financial reports & management accounts information in line with Group and UK reporting requirements.

Key Responsibilities/Tasks of the Financial/Management Accountant:

  • Treasury Accounting - Foreign currency accounting & OCF forecasting
  • Escalate risks & opportunities wrt. to OCF quickly and to the appropriate
  • Sales Forecasting - ensure accuracy & compliance with accounting standards
  • Assist with the compliance and development of internal controls to satisfy the company
  • Assist with the provision of financial reports & management accounts, including
  • Prepare the annual tax packs, Statutory Accounts and annual Insurance
  • Liaise with Internal & External auditors - Preparation and Presentatation of Financial Data
  • Program Accounting - Control & monitoring of project expenditure and delivery on assigned management level
  • Group ICQ commentary and analysis as may be requested, in line with Group, UK and Domain reporting requirements
  • questionnaires to Auditors (both External and Internal) programmes- Supporting Programme Managers to understand actual costs incurred.,Supporting Programme Managers in preparing latest costs to completion estimates (CTC) and estimates at completion (EAC) for programmes.
  • Monitoring and reporting on the level of risk held within Programmes and risk evolution.
  • Ensure financial integrity in the preparation and delivery of new Bids

  • Experience of Project Accountant role within an engineering/manufacturing background.
  • Strong understanding of commercial and financial aspects of the business.
  • Ability to assimilate and analyse technical, financial and commercial information.
  • Experience in providing financial analysis in a fast moving technical environment.
  • Change agent, able to identify and implement change within the finance environment, and to support the change process in the Company as a whole, to improve effectiveness
  • Highly proficient in Excel.
  • Good working understanding of ERP systems
  • Good IFRS knowledge

Qualifications:

  • Ideally educated to degree level or equivalent (preferably in a finance, or related discipline).
  • Professional accounting qualification - Ideally CIMA or ACCA
