SIEM Consultant/Security Consultant/Security Specialist/Infrastructure Security Specialist

My client are a major consultancy and security specialist. They are working with a major client in Dublin and require an experienced SIEM consultant with significant Infrastructure experience.

As a member of the Security Services team the Infrastructure Security Specialist will be responsible for maintaining, developing and improving Information Security Services. These Security Services are used by the different client entities within a group structure. You will provide professional assurance and compliance capability in respect of Information Security, as a key part of the business. A core part of this role will be to perform technical and functional activities/tasks for the various security services/solutions which the client has in place.

Principal Accountabilities
The successful candidate will be responsible for the implementation, maintenance and administration of security measures taken, to prevent valuable information stored on computers and transmitted through networks against not permitted activities.

As such you shall act as the operator of various security services such as

  • Security Incident and Event Management solution(s) within LPIS
  • Unstructured Data Management solution
  • Security Awareness solution
  • Intrusion Detection/Intrusion Prevention Service
  • Vulnerability Management
  • Monitoring and reviewing access of applications, database management systems and underlying Operating Systems (in particular i-Series and Windows).

You should have deep experience dealing with and managing third party vendors as well as the ability to monitor, analyze, document and resolve security breaches and vulnerability issues in a timely and accurate fashion.

Core responsibilities will be to:

  • Checking relevant log files (network, server, Firewall eg, logs)
  • Prepare quarterly systems access reviews and reports
  • Conduct user activity audits where required
  • Administration of security controls by processing access requests
  • Providing support regarding information security access problems
  • Establishes and maintains correct access rules defining who has access to which data sets under what circumstances
  • Perform Risk Assessments of new Security Tools and third parties including Cloud Solutions

You will be working in a project environment and should have experience in Project Delivery. The successful candidate will possess the ability to work on their own initiative and have a track record of the prevention of unauthorized access to data and resources on networks

You should have detailed experience with ISO27001 processes and security controls and experience working within an ISO27001 certified environment.
