CDS Recruitment Ltd have 5 requirements for mechanical technicians based in Sunderland, Tyne and Wear.
The role is working for a international third party maintenance company who supply electrical and mechanical services to the Automotive industry in the North East of England.
If successfull after interview our client would wish you to be able to start asap.
We require 5 time served mechanical technicians who have experience of planned preventative maintenance programs and ideally recent experience of working within a high volume manufacturing company. Ideally an automotive manufacture or supplier to the 1 tier supplier such as Nissan.
The hours will be Monday to Friday with occasional weekend work. 40 hours per week. Our opportunity is for a long term ongoing contract. As time develops it is possible to increase the hourly rate after an initial period.
The day to day role as a Mechanical Technician is :
1.0 Role Purpose: To organise, control and build, (including the assembly of pneumatic equipment), jigs, fixtures and specific purpose machinery for a variety of applications.
2.0 Key Responsibilities:
2.1. To interpret engineering drawings and query inaccuracies
2.2. To work effectively within specified time limit
2.3. To build to required standard of quality through self-inspection
2.4. To be an effective team member, working with supervisor and colleagues to ensure smooth workflow with maximum output
2.5. To adhere to/comply with the Company's Health and Safety policies and procedures, ensuring that the work area is kept in a safe and tidy condition
2.6. To take proper care and protection of Company owned workshop equipment
2.7. To be willing and available to work on site
3.0 Skills, Knowledge and Experience:
3.1. Related to:
3.1.1. Fitting
3.1.2. Machining
3.1.3. Fabrication & steel work Manufacture.
3.1.4. Facility Installation & Modifications
3.1.5. Pneumatics
3.1.6. Robots
3.1.7. Welding
3.1.8. Inspection
3.1.9. Commissioning.
3.2. Reading and interpreting engineering drawings
3.3. To acknowledge and understand health and safety requirements and general good housekeeping.
4.0 Education and Training:
4.1. Time served apprenticeship.
4.2. IpAF
4.3. Fork truck licences
4.4. MEWP (Cherry Picker, scissor lift) Licences
4.5. Welding Certs
