Role: Commissioning Engineer (Substations - On & Offshore) x 2 positions



Location: Suffolk



My client a leading Renewable energies Operator specialising within the Offshore Wind sector are looking to recruit 2 experienced Commissioning Engineers to drive both the Offshore Substation/ Hook Up and Onshore Substation and Grid connection commissioning works in a challenging project environment.



The Role:



The Commissioning Engineer will be a direct report to the Commissioning Manager and deputise when necessary. 



Principal Accountability:



- Work alongside the Electrical Systems Package Site representatives and key supplier representatives to  manage the commissioning activities as Clients Engineer, driving the work scope forwards on site to meet the project programme.

- Client witness and sign off for Stage 1 and Stage 2 Commissioning

- Management of Grid Interface activities on site

- Provide technical support for Project Senior Authorised Person/Safety Controller

- Investigate and report on HV Network system events during the commissioning phase.

- Deputise for the Commissioning Manager when required.

- Feed into Electrical Package Quality Documentation (i.e. Snag Lists)

- Ensure Asset Integrity of the HV Network during the Commissioning phase

- Programme Planning for Commissioning Works and Network Outages

- Accurate weekly reporting and record keeping on Progress and Issues

- Responsibility for the Commissioning Teams core responsibilities with regards to the Onshore programme

- Assist client site management team with Civil/Building services M&E commissioning.

- Liaise with Engineering and Quality Departments.

- Interface with Export Cable and Offshore Substation Commissioning activities



Knowledge and Skills:



- Proven Electrical Commissioning Engineer in a HV substation/Cable/Wind Farm Environment

- Recent National Grid Project commissioning experience is desirable

- Self-starting with planning/coordination and problem solving abilities.

- Proven track record in a client role

- Understanding of HV Safety Rules

- Electrical Engineering Degree/HNC
