Principal Safety Engineer - Electrical
A Principal Safety Engineer with Electrical is required to work on a twelve month contract (with the possibility of extension) for our Defence client based in Cumbria
This is a 12 month contract with a leading UK defence company.
Overview of the Principal Safety Engineer contract role
As the Principal Safety Engineer you must be familiar with the following,
- Implementing safety processes and plans in large complex systems (hardware & software);
- Developing safety processes;
- Developing Safety Management Plans (SMPs);
- Hazard identification and analysis;
- Qualitative and quantitative analyses;
- Functional decomposition;
- Human Factors, operability and maintenance impact on safety;
- Liaising with engineers and suppliers;
- Developing ALARP arguments;
Key skills required for the Principal Safety Engineer
- Functional Hazard Assessment (FHA);
- Fault Tree Analysis (FTA);
- Event Tree Analysis (ETA);
- Failure Modes & Effects Analysis (FMEA);
- Accident Sequence Modelling;
- Fault Schedules;
- Hazard & Operability Analysis (HAZOP);
- Developing safety cases experience
The role is based in Barrow in Furness, Cumbria - commutable from Carnforth, Milnthorpe, Lancaster, Morecambe, Penrith, Workington, Whitehaven and The Lake District
