Description
Commercial Officers/Procurement Officers required in Coventry or Nottingham by Central Government client to deliver a range of commercial roles that includes providing procurement and commercial support to the department's most complex and high risk projects.
The successful candidate will deliver one or more of the following:
* Provide proactive commercial leadership, support, challenge and innovation to allocated projects, and deliver excellent procurement and commercial outcomes aligned to policy need across the department's business areas.
* Liaise with other government departments, including Crown Commercial Service to align with and support CCS policy for government buying and support the effective utilisation of appropriate frameworks.
* Support Team leaders and colleagues to develop strong stakeholder relationships across the policy and delivery teams, to understand their needs, and develop a holistic view of the department to help form good procurement strategies, leading to the best commercial outcomes.
* Lead and/or support a number of project strands to improve contract management and grant administration across the department (eg contingency planning, implementation of the department Supplier Risk Strategy, contract/grant assurance, contract/grant manager knowledge network) - applying lessons learnt equally across both grant and contract landscapes where there are appropriate synergies.
* Work collaboratively with colleagues from within the division and operate flexibility at times of peak demand from time to time to support projects.
* Quickly develop and manage effective working relationships at all levels, to set a clear direction, to lead and inspire others and to champion new ways of working.
