Quality Control Engineer - Naval Ships
A Quality Control Engineer with Naval Ships is required to work on a ten month contract (with the possibility of extension) for our Defence client based in Portsmouth
This is a 10 month contract with a leading UK defence company.
Overview of the Quality Control Engineer contract role
You will be the focal point in Fleet Services for providing technical assurance of the integrity of the product and service deliverables, Add value by providing confidence that Deliverables being presented for Test, Trials & Acceptance or onward delivery to the customer are complete, with appropriate evidence of conformance to its specification Work is progressed and deliverables produced IAW processes approved by the business assuring compliance with applicable regulatory, standards and governance requirements.
Key skills required for the Quality Control Engineer
- Be HNC qualified in an appropriate technical discipline or equivalent experience.
- Be a quality professional, auditor or equivalent experience.
- Have a knowledge of Quality Control; control charts, route cards, SPC, Certificates of Conformity, concessions and waivers, factory/site acceptance, First Article, etc.
- Have a knowledge of marine and defence standards and ships classification and knowledge of ISO 9001.
- Have knowledge of and experience of product safety and integrity.
- Sound understanding of the defence maritime industry.
- Be able to differentiate between manufacture, refurbish, repair and maintenance.
- Broad understanding of Matrix management in a complex operational environment.
- Understanding of LCM process, Business Management Systems, Operational Framework and Operational Assurance process.
The role is based in Portsmouth, Hampshire - commutable from Southampton, Cowes, Isle of Wight, Salisbury, Winchester, Andover, Basingstoke, Guildford, Aldershot, Crawley, Horsham, Brighton, Worthing, Chichester
