Description

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Developing new Public Sector pension scheme regulations must have experience of drafting regulations, specification of scheme rules and calculations.
  • Working with legal partners, policy team and scheme administrators.
  • Develop scheme communications and consult on reforms. Understanding of pension scheme governance and pension boards. 
  • Investigation of the current position on pensions in the deregulated bus market including through discussion with local authority and bus operator pension experts
  • Identification of the policy option(s) available
  • Detailed development of the policy approach decided upon by Ministers, including instructions to lawyers for secondary or Public Sector pension scheme regulation primary legislation on both pensions and TUPE.
  • Ad hoc support to the team as the Bill proceeds through Parliament, scoped on a fortnightly basis.

Essential Experience:

  • Experience of staff transfer issues
  • Experience of the detailed workings of the Local Government Pension Scheme
  • Experience of drafting regulations, specifications of scheme rules and calculations
  • Project Management experience
