Job Description:
- Responsible for performing ASC 840 lease test on real property leases, performance of SOX monitoring and test, as well as review of prospective vendor financial statements and ad-hoc projects.
- Accounting policies and procedures are established to ensure that all financial transactions are executed and documented in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles.
- Findings and recommendations are presented to senior management.
Essential Functions:
- Prepare various internal management reports in support of bond activity.
- Perform ASC 840 lease test to determine appropriate classification of all real property leases.
- Work with members of other departments in granting financial disbursement authority.
- Perform internal SOX testing.
- Perform financial analysis, translate data into a management report, and make recommendations based on the analysis.
- Recommend process improvements.
- Resolve issues with other staff or departments without management involvement.
- Performs research of accounting issues using the FASB Accounting Standards Codification, as needed.
- Provide support for internal and external audits.
- Complete special projects as needed.
- Review reconciliations, journal entries, and reports prepared by other accounting groups.
- Contributes to the achievement of department objectives.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks effectively.
- Be able to meet established deadlines.
- Provides professional/technical guidance to team members.
- Assume other duties as directed.

Required Education, Experience, and Skills:
- Bachelor's Degree
- Total of at least 4-5 years' work experience: at least 2 years in an audit (internal or external), SOX Testing or Management Consulting Role (or similar); additional 2 years in business or similar function
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Strong Microsoft Excel and Word skills; Lotus Notes desired
- Experience with Financial Statement analysis
- Experience evaluating leases for appropriate ASC 840 classification preferred
