Description
We are currently seeking skilled and experienced cable installation engineers to work on a new data-centre installation project in West London (inside M25).
Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate professional skills and experience in the following areas:
- Cat 5e and Cat 6 and Cat 7 installation, termination & testing.
- Terminating onto RJ45 panels and RJ45 outlets.
- Installation of fibre optic cable.
- Testing using Power & light meters.
- Experience working in datacenter environments.
- Flexible working hours - potentially weekends/nights as required.
- Working with all forms of containment essential - trunking & conduits.
- Own PPE & standard hand tools.
The Structured Cabling Installation engineer will be responsible for:
Cable pulling and laying in within new and existing cable containment systems.
Termination and testing of new cabling within patch panels and floor distributors.
Responsible for testing and troubleshooting of cable.
Setting up new communications cabinets/frames.
Patching of network Equipment.
The individual needs to:
Communicate effectively and appropriately whilst dealing with clients and/or personnel at all levels.
Demonstrate initiative - being proactive and creative.
Be hardworking and self-motivated.
Able to prioritise effectively and work to set timescales and within programme.
Work efficiently and show excellent attention to detail.
Work well with little supervision individually and within a team environment.
Be able to present valid, relevant CSCS card and pass a basic installations skills test if required.
