Description

I have a great new opportunity working for a leading financial services company based in the city. My client is after a highly skilled infrastructure consultant to driving operational excellence and automation within infrastructure services team. You will be dedicated to ensuring operational stability and committed to driving automation wherever possible and change where necessary. You are expected to have a keen interest in a broad range of IT technologies, the ability to follow process, recommend improvement and lead the service management function of the team effectively

Key responsibilities:

  • Provide input into technology road map
  • Define and police infrastructure standard
  • Lead and own the service management elements of the team
  • Manage issues and relationships with 3rd party service providers including supplier service meetings and reviews.
  • Monitor and maintain the backup infrastructure and associated jobs
  • Monitor network and security systems and provision network and security changes in line with change control process.
  • Manage patching of various infrastructure systems and components in line with the corporate patching policy.

Key Skills:

  • Excellent understanding of enterprise level infrastructure components and systems (Primarily Microsoft - MCP desirable)
  • Excellent knowledge of Active Directory and Group Policy.
  • Automation skills a must. (Scripting, infrastructure coding - strong PowerShell skills required).
  • Experience configuring Cisco Switches and Routers
  • Experience managing Firewall technologies (Checkpoint/ASA).
  • Experience of IP & Cisco networking configuration and troubleshooting.
  • Experience of managing and configuring Cisco call manager and IP Telephony.
  • Excellent knowledge of VMware vCenter and vSphere administration and configuration
  • Ability to configure and maintain infrastructure monitoring systems (SCOM preferable).
  • Experience deploying builds and software using SCCM.
  • Applied knowledge and experience of patching infrastructure systems in an operationally sensitive environment.
  • ITIL based service management (ITIL Certification desirable).
  • Excellent understanding of network and server security concepts.
