Title: Failure Analysis Technician - WA
Location: Bothell, WA
Rate: $24.00 - $33.00/hr on w2
Duration: 12 Months with possible extension
Failure Analysis Technician:
- Find root cause to the component level of returned product. High Voltage understanding, Analog to Digital understanding, power supply understanding, component failure mechanisms familiarity.
FA Technician Job Request:
- Must be able to work well with others and prioritize based on changing work conditions.
- Perform complicated solder/de-solder/miscellaneous rework
- Organize and maintain stock of critical test equipment for troubleshooting.
- Troubleshooting failures to root cause.
- Basic understanding of analog/digital circuits
- Operate characterization equipment such as scopes, meters, temp chambers, power supplies, loads, DMM.
- Experience in a regulated industry a plus.
- Perform analyses and apply problem solving techniques in order to identify failures at the component/part level
- Meticulously record steps taken in the investigation and enter into our investigation tracking system
- Pair Electrical Engineering skills with process/workflow optimization techniques to create improved root cause determinations
- Write down and establish standards of work and work instructions
- Develop test fixtures to improve measurement fidelity and throughput
- A positive attitude and attention to detail
- Associate or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering
- The ability to ask questions to ensure we have thought all the way through the challenge
- Ability to replace small form (0102) surface mount components
- AED/Defibrillator Failure Analysis experience a plus
- Desire to grow ability and knowledge and provide improved methods of doing work
Experience:
- More than 10 years professional experience.
Education:
- Associates/Bachelor's Degree in Electronics or Electrical engineering (circuitry)
Skills:
- Failure analysis skills of electronics, reading schematics, understanding circuit behavior, finding root cause component, and detailed write-up of investigation.
- Utilize various electronic test equipment, such as meters, oscilloscopes and power supplies.
- Perform minor soldering and electronic repair, surface mount 0102.
- Troubleshoot electro-mechanical assemblies to the component level.
- Develop and document test processes for electronic equipment.
