SME & Partnerships Senior Finance Business Partner
This is a high profile and commercial role as the Finance lead for the SME business within WPUK, and associated Partnerships. The role combines performance & planning responsibilities with appraising investments, structuring contracts and managing compensation. It is an opportunity where the role holder can truly make a difference and has significant exposure to the WPUK Executive Team.
Key accountabilities:
- Integral member of the SME and Loyalty Boards; holding senior stakeholders to account for delivering on E2E financial commitments and KPIs therein, delivering quantitative and qualitative analysis that stimulates debate and dialogue, dovetailing sales performance with financial performance, discussing and opining on non financial elements of the business
- Fundamental role in the strategic direction of SME and Partnerships; driving the forecasts and five year plans, understanding impact on returns & other key metrics, influencing decisions and supporting delivery as an integral member of various committees and workshops
- Leading the planning process from top down strategy to bottom up targeting at a seller level; an expert on the internal and external dynamics of the business and interdependencies, leading scenario modelling and sensitivity analysis, securing Matrix lock-in
- Delivering investment and contract decision support; creating and reviewing business cases, ensuring adherence to Group hurdles and governance, balancing competing financial commitments, supporting contract negotiations, tracking all spend and benefits
- Serving as the custodian of all seller commission schemes; shaping scheme construct, chairing Compensation Committee and dovetailing in with Group Reward
- Calling on the expert and leading the engagement between different areas of finance, including Tax, Treasury and Technical Accounting as required in the role as Finance lead for the SME business
- Key player in cost focus and E2E profitability; embedding value for money mind set, delivering transparency, optimising ratios and reinvestment
- Managing a team of three; providing open and honest feedback, holding regular career conversations and supporting longer term development, ensuring the retention and development of top talent and the management of underperformance
- Delivering business segment management information (P&L, business metrics) and evolving these over time; including weekly reports, rolling forecasts and business performance analytics, as well as ad hoc requests
- Deputising for the VP Commercial Finance as required and being a true ambassador of Worldpay values; helping shape the wider Commercial Finance and WPUK culture
Experience:
- Fully qualified accountant with significant post qualified experience
- Strong academic background, degree educated
- Experience of working in a complex organisation and across boundaries
- Proven success in a similar commercial role influencing senior leaders
- Experience of working with imperfect systems and data
- Track record of delivering finance change and process improvementsnce
