Description

Our client is currently looking for an EMEA Shipping/Traffic Coordinator for a potentially long term contract opportunity based at their offices in Reading. This would be an initial 12 month contract position with the possibilty of extension and the rate is in the region of £20 per hour.

What you'll be doing:

  • Act as point of contact & customer service support for our client's EMEA offices
  • Assists with creating shipping documents and making transportation bookings with carriers for smaller EMEA offices, including packing up products and ensuring shipping paperwork is compliant with battery and safety certification shipping regulations.
  • Coordinates expedited shipments (eg, Speed of Light, Hand carries, Express services, same day services, etc.) with carriers & destinations, including quoting costs, transit times, and educating internal/external customers
  • Root causes late and damaged shipments with freight forwarder/courier and follows up on obtaining corrective action plans and claim handling.
  • Approves EMEA Freight invoices and work on projects to improve billing processes.
  • Maintain hard and soft copy shipping records/logs

Required Experiences:

  • 2-3 years of experience in international and domestic transportation including working knowledge of Express Courier Ship and Track and Trace systems (eg, Fedex/DHL/UPS)
  • Ability to work independently with little direction/supervision.
  • Computer skills to include Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong work ethic/commitment. Able to work after hours and weekends for periodic urgent customer shipment support as needed.
  • Possess excellent interpersonal skills along with strong written and verbal communication customer service skills with ability to develop productive relationships within teams. Customer minded a must.
  • Applicants must be professional, organized and able to meet deadlines under a fast paced environment; ability to multi task customer service emails and handling tactical operations
