Procurement Specialist - Buyer
A Procurement Specialist with defence experience is required to work on a six month contract (with the possibility of extension) for our Defence client based in Preston.
This is a 6 month contract with a leading UK defence company.
Overview of the Procurement Specialist contract role
An opportunity has arisen for a Procurement Engineer to work as part of the Procurement Last Time Buy team on our clients aircraft, providing support to the Last Time Buy manager in all aspects of managing the contracts which includes contract reporting and stakeholder review.
Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Support to the production of common processes and procedures.
- Maintenance and update of budgetary control information eg monthly reconciliation of directives with consumption reports and support the up-issue of directives for both Core Programme and Export.
- Support the maintenance of the integrity of LTB data.
- Ensure corresponding reduction in LTB Purchase Orders to reflect usage of last time buy (LTB) as defined in the Consumption reports and through the receipt of credit notes.
- Manage key stakeholder interfaces, in particular the Project Offices and the Project Control team.
The role is based in Preston, Lancashire - commutable from Blackpool, Lancaster, Morecambe, Chorley, Leyland, Blackburn, Darwen, Burnley, Skipton, Stockport, Manchester, Warrington, Wigan, Bolton, Bury, Rochdale and Oldham with excellent access from Liverpool and Leeds
