Information Specialist Officer | Cardiff | 6 months | Up to 130.00 a day
Our client is involved in the development of new methods, tools and information technologies to transform health services for the people of Wales.
You will lead on the development of national information standards, and subsequent Data Standard Changes Notices (DSCNs). Working with sponsors and developers to progress these requirements successfully through the client's processes.
Duties will include:
* Communication of the complex new information standards to the appropriate sponsors.
* Develop and implement processes, tools and relevant documentation to underpin the development, publication and maintenance of robust national information standards.
* Research the current practices being undertaken by other Home Countries in relation to Health Information Standards and data flows
* Produce the required paperwork to communicate any changes
* Undertaking data standards impact assessments across Wales to measure the impact of the introduction of new data standards
* Present proposed changes to relevant national groups and be prepared to negotiate any conflicts between organisational systems and processes to a successful conclusion.
* Effective communication of outcomes to Sponsors and Developers, including business processes, technical and operational issues.
Skills and Experience
* Experience of developing and/or implementing new information standards.
* Knowledge of the Welsh Information Standards Assurance Process
* Knowledge of Velindre NHS policies.
* Good knowledge of legislation relating to data protection and the release of confidential information.
* Understanding of the NHS Wales and Welsh Government Branches.
* Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
