My client, a leading Custodian Bank, is looking for a Financial Controller with a strong product control background to join on a long term rolling contract. The successful candidate must be a qualified accountant with 4+ years experience within Financial Services. Capital markets knowledge and strong stakeholder experience are key requirements for this position.
Role Responsibilities:
- The candidate will be responsible for business support including finance, accounting and product control.
- A key part of this will be supporting new product roll out and enhancing the product/valuation/accounting control.
- Daily profit and loss production and analysis of the revenues in the broker dealer business.
- Front Office to Back Office system reconciliations.
- Calculating rebates due to/from third party brokers.
- Off market trade checks and investigations.
- Assisting in daily and monthly balance sheet substantiation.
- Assisting in ensuring the existing governance and finance controls are effective in minimising risks associated with the business.
- Supporting the business with respect to requests for data analysis and accounting issues.
- Support of US/UK regulatory reporting Develop and document policies and procedures.
- Support broker dealer projects and infrastructure enhancements.
- Support for audit requests and assist in quarterly SOX certification.
- Support wind down and closure of the FCM business.
- Assist with daily control processes along with the wind down and closure of the Futures Clearing and Execution business.
- Cross cover will also be required for the wider control group in addition to ad hoc projects.
- Additional responsibilities will include system enhancements, process enhancements and the financial control of the trading entity as well as understanding the accounting treatment of these products.
Candidate Requirements:
- Accounting Degree or Part Qualified/Qualified ACA/ACC
- Intermediate to advanced Excel skills.
- Capital markets and financial market products preferred
