Press Officer Manager

The Role

To lead significant communications and/or business activities that will support the delivery of the business objectives and protect and enhance the reputation of the client. Delivering creative and effective communications/customer service/statutory responses to support the corporate objectives and government priorities, and to facilitate organisational change and improvement.

Deliverables

1. Leading the professional area of work as the key point of contact and the expert in the organisation
2. Represent the client externally in the professional area including membership of cross government groups.
3. Providing detailed professional support and advice to the organisation, so that timely, accurate and informed decisions/strategies/activities/responses can be made.
4. Work collaboratively with colleagues across and wider government to share good practice and to develop and agree those strategies that require cross government agreement.
5. Work with the senior team to identify and encourage the professional development of the wider team.

Skills

* Excellent judgment on which issues have the potential to impact on planning and delivery.
* Budget profiling and monitoring.
* Ability to work with senior colleagues and command respect and authority and to liaise with national and regional stakeholders across the business.
* Outstanding written and presentation skills.
