Functional Improvement & Assurance Lead

A Functional Improvement & Assurance Lead is required to work on a six month contract (with the possibility of extension) for our defence client based in Cumbria.

This is a 6 month contract working for a leading UK defence company.

Overview of the Functional Improvement & Assurance Lead contract role

You will be responsible for administration of a major subcontract ensuring the right materials in assigned areas are purchased against the operational customer requirement and in line with all policies and standards. Actively progressing scheduled deliveries to ensure timely delivery, availability of all materials and value for money. Developing and maintaining effective working relationships with relevant supplier personnel to facilitate the delivery of supplies which match submarines' requirements, participating in identifying and securing improvements in supplier effectiveness and performance.

Key skills required for the Functional Improvement & Assurance Lead

  • Relevant Professional Accreditation desirable (eg CILT/CIPS).
  • Relevant professional qualification desirable (eg Lean Sigma Green Belt).
  • Lean Awareness/Six Sigma (Lean Sigma).
  • Change Management, strong diplomacy and influencing skills.
  • Presentation & Facilitation.
  • Assurance and Auditing.
  • Well Developed Presentation and Facilitation Skills and training delivery.
  • Functional Knowledge (Procurement, Logistics, MRP or a combination of these).
  • Microsoft Office Packages.
  • ERP Knowledge (specifically SAP).
  • Stakeholder engagement.

The role is based in Barrow in Furness, Cumbria - commutable from Carnforth, Milnthorpe, Lancaster, Morecambe, Penrith, Workington, Whitehaven and The Lake District.
