Description

*Deputy Finance Director - up to £570/day - 6 month contract - Oxford*

Security Clearance: Must already hold BPSS + DS clearance.

We have an exciting opportunity to join one of our key healthcare clients who are looking for a Deputy Finance Director to join their team. The successful candidate will Oversee the financial performance of the fourteen CCG's within the South Central system, providing the necessary advice, guidance support and or/challenge as appropriate/Support, analyse and challenge the System Transformation Plans (STP).

Key tasks and deliverables:
*Oversee the financial performance of the South Central Direct Commissioning portfolio and help to ensure delivery against agreed financial targets
*Ensure appropriate financial systems and processes are in place to enable robust financial control across South Central
*Proactively manage the key risks and issues arising around financial performance and ensuring appropriate actions are taken to mitigate or respond
*Manage and actively promote the relationships with key stakeholders both internal and external to the South Central Team, promoting partnership working across organisational boundaries.
*Overall responsibility for accounting procedures and payroll, contributing fully to the development of departmental strategy across all areas, challenging assumptions and decision-making as appropriate and providing financial analysis and guidance on all activities, plan and targets.
*Preparation of financial reports and briefings, such as tax returns, balance statements, and any legislative requirements.
*Research, preparation and submission of budgets, ensure that all financial matters are in accordance with legislation and ethical accounting practices.
*Preparation and implementation of tender documents and purchasing practices; potentially, responsibility for insurance, licensing, contracts, supplier relationships.
*Provide direction and leadership to the department.
*Recruitment, motivation, selection, training and promotion of financial staff and participate in financial, human resources and strategic planning.

Essential skills and experience:
*NHS Experience
*Previously worked at DOF or deputy DOF level
*Advanced communication and relationship building skills
*Ability to influence

Desirable skills and experience:
*CCG assurance experience
*NHS England exposure
