Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Contracts Manager to work within Central Government on a contract basis. This position is based in London, initially for 6 months offering up to £385 per day LTD.

Main Duties:

Managing the relationship between the Training Operating Companies (TOC) and the Department, adherence to KPIs and continually assessing quality of service and/or product to ensure effective, value for money delivery from the supply chain.

Monitoring TOC compliance and the delivery of franchise commitments.

Monitoring TOC operational and financial performance.

Producing periodic performance reports for senior management highlighting risks and issues as they arise.

Provide papers to senior management recommending changes and derogations to the contract.

Maintaining accurate records of franchise-related documentation.

Producing contractual correspondence between the Department and the TOC.

Providing advice and briefing for Ministers.

Dealing with correspondence from external stakeholders and the public.

Support the work steam(s) on contract management excellence for rail franchises including, but not limited to, leading on reviewing and improving a specific area of the rail franchise process manual.

Managing supplier relationships, adherence to KPIs and continually assessing quality of service and/or product to ensure effective, value for money delivery from the supply chain.

Negotiating contracts and managing tenders

Holding supplier forums to proactively engage the network and keep up to date with developments in the industry

Preparing monthly reports and working closely with internal and/or external stakeholders to evaluate customer needs

Essential Experience:

Able to manage the performance of suppliers to achieve contracted outcomes.

Able to monitor performance and budget, planning, forecasting and monitoring against targets to manage risks.

Awareness of the contractual, commercial, financial and economic impacts which surround the delivery of franchised services.

Experience of managing or supporting the delivery of complex projects.

Experience of building and managing stakeholder relationships at the highest levels.

Ability to analyse and evaluate information in order to identify the main issues and risks in complex commercial problems, using this information to make decisions that are in the best interests of passengers and taxpayers.

Ideally, you will also have experience in railway commercial delivery and a wider understanding of the public sector.
